Facebook Unveils New ‘Events’ App Coming Soon to Android - Facebook is absolutely not a stranger to launching standalone apps for features that have been baked into its stock app for years. And now there’s one more. According to Facebook, over 100 million daily users use the Events function on Facebook, which apparently means the company has deemed it essential to launch another standalone app. So, here we are, with a brand new, standalone “Events” app for iOS. It works like the standard Events platform in the regular Facebook app, or on the desktop: You can browse the events that are taking place in your town or nearby, and you can say you’re going to that event or not. If a user follows a commercial page, and they have an event coming up, that will show up in the app, and news from an event that you’ve already said you’re going to will show up in your feed as well. Google Duo is Replacing Hangouts on Android Smartphones - Google announced Duo, its brand new video calling app, earlier this year, and it officially launched last month. Google’s proud of the app, or at least the company appears to be, as they seem to be pushing it hard for future Android smartphones. As reported by Android Police , the company has started emailing Google Mobile Services (GMS) partners to inform them that, beginning on December 1, Google Duo will be a stock app within the GMS package of apps. That means, beginning on the first of December, Duo is replacing Hangouts on Android smartphones. Manufacturers will need to install Duo on their Android smartphones if they intend on installing other Google apps, including Gmail. Are you using Google Duo?

AT&T Reportedly Considering Not Putting Galaxy Note 7 Back on Sale Again at All -  AT&T is the only carrier in the United States which is yet to put the new and safe Galaxy Note 7 units back on sale. The three other major carriers — T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon — started selling safe Note 7 units since late September or early October. AT&T, however, wants to take things to the next level and is reportedly “considering” not putting the device back on sale at all. The carrier is planning on taking this decision after even a safe Note 7 unit exploding in a Southwest Airlines. All the four carriers have started offering concerned customers with the option to return their safe Note 7 unit and exchange it with a different device.
